Nashville, TN - April 29, 2009 - Steven Curtis and Mary Beth Chapman have been recognized by the renown organization, Children's Hunger Fund (CHF), for their tireless work for the millions of orphans around the world. As founders of the orphan ministry Show Hope™, the Chapman's were chosen to receive CHF's Children's Champion Award due to their admirable care for the needs of children, especially for orphans to find forever homes. The couple was honored at the Children's Hunger Fund Celebration Banquet held this past Sunday evening at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library, located in Simi Valley, California. Mary Beth Chapman was on hand to accept the award.
The Children's Champion Award exists to recognize those who have used their positions of influence in government, business and charity, to ensure that children - children they may never meet, receive hope against the odds. The Chapman's are part of a select group who have gone above and beyond to care for and provide tangible and significant support for suffering children, and the Children's Hunger Fund proudly recognizes the Chapman's role in the world and how their assistance has improved the lives of the children.
"A key portion of CHF's programs provide support for orphans around the world," said Dave Phillips, President, Children's Hunger Fund. "It seemed only natural to honor...the Chapmans for their compassionate care of orphans. We are like-minded in our passion to care for the needs of children in crisis."
"We are humbled to be receiving this in honor of ALL the children in the world who are without parents and need to be cared for while they wait," responded Mary Beth Chapman.
Also honored at the banquet was Focus On The Family President, Jim Daly. The ceremony was emceed by Pastor and author Francis Chan and sponsored by USANA Health Sciences. Regency Lighting was a co-sponsor, while other sponsors include Hollywood Against Hunger, McCormick Consulting Group, P.A.C. Properties, Anita G. Inc., Shepherd of the Hills Church, Central Parking System, Nestle USA, World Magazine, and California National Bank.
About Children's Hunger Fund (CHF):
Children's Hunger Fund works in some of the most needy regions in the world.
